The Political Divide in the US is Reaching a New Low
There’s always been something of a division between the two major parties in the United States, yet, for the most part, it’s always been a civil division. People could disagree on politics and still see each other as fellow human beings, colleagues, and even friends. Today, however, this is sadly no longer the case.
Those on the left blame President Trump for the growing division in the United States, yet it is rarely ever Trump or even members of the Republican party who are the ones guilty of treating others poorly because of their political views. Rather, it is those on the left such as the owner of the Red Hen restaurant who kicked out White House press secretary Sarah Sanders — or Seth Rogan who refused to take a picture with Speaker of the House Paul Ryan and instead insulted him in front of his children.
Examples such as these are unfortunately common, as the narrative on the left is quickly shifting to say that it is okay and even morally necessary to treat those with differing political opinions with hate and disrespect. For the self-proclaimed “party of tolerance”, the hypocrisy of these actions is staggering.
