The Media is Ignoring Trump’s Progress with North Korea
Before President Donald Trump was elected, no American president had ever met with the leader of North Korea. Now, Trump has met with him twice.
Thanks largely to Trump’s efforts negotiating with Kim Jong-un and Pyongyang as well as the harsh sanctions that he has imposed, North Korea has officially ended its war with South Korea, has dialed back its nuclear ambitions, and has agreed to work with the United States on an even more lasting peace agreement.
The progress Trump has made with North Korea thus far is historical, and yet the media continues to ignore these accomplishments. The only time there is talk in the mainstream media about Trump’s efforts with North Korea is when they are casting those efforts in a negative light, warning that Trump is going to start a war or warning that Trump is going to make too many concessions to the rogue nation.
So far, though, none of these warnings have come true. Instead, Trump continues to make historical progress with a country that is considered to be one of the biggest threats to peace and stability on the world stage. At this point in time, the media may be unwilling to give Trump credit for this progress, but history is bound to cast Trump’s accomplishments with North Korea in a very different light.
