The Left’s Favorite Myth About Voter Suppression — Rebutted
Those on the left have a number of strategies for painting conservatives as racist and hateful people in order to compensate for their own lack of beneficial ideas and policies.
One of the most effective and persistent of those strategies, though, is the narrative of voter suppression put forward by the Democratic Party and the mainstream media. According to those on the left, the GOP actively works to prevent certain demographics from voting to limit Democratic turnout. In reality, though, this narrative is entirely a myth.
The myth of voter suppression comes from the fact that the GOP tends to favor voter identification laws that require a person to present a valid ID before voting. However, these laws are only meant to discourage illegal voting, and are not in any way designed to discourage American citizens from being able to vote.
After all, providing a valid ID is not much of an obstacle given that the same is required for almost everything else a person can do, from buying a car to applying for a job and everything in-between. The idea that such laws equate to intentional voter suppression is nothing more than a false narrative designed by a dishonest media.
