The Left Wanted to Impeach Trump Before he was Even Elected

Recently, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi claimed that she never even considered impeaching President Trump before the whistleblower complaint went public.

While it is true that Pelosi had been holding back on impeachment up until this point – much to the chagrin of the more radical elements of the Democratic Party – the reality is that Democrats have been trying to impeach Trump before he was ever even elected.

If this sounds like hyperbole, consider the fact that the pointless Russian collusion investigation – an investigation based on faulty opposition research that turned out to be entirely baseless – began before Trump had even won the 2016 election. Since then, the Democratic Party and the mainstream media have tried over and over again to find any example of Trump committing an impeachment-worthy offense, and they have latched onto any narrative that supports impeachment that they could find time after time.

To her credit, Nancy Pelosi may have not been willing to move forward with impeachment until she had some inkling of a reason to do so. To say that she never considered impeachment before the whistleblower complaint, however, is a laughable lie.
