The Latest Call for Gay “Reparations” is Ridiculous

Democratic politicians seem to be in a constant battle to see who can come up with the most radically progressive ideas. Now, 2020 presidential hopeful and alleged Native American Sen. Elizabeth Warren has submitted her entry into this competition with one of the most laughably radical ideas to ever come out of US politics – gay reparations.

Under Warren’s plan – titled the “Refund Equality Act” – same-sex couples would be able to amend their past tax returns and accept refunds from the IRS. This plan is designed to pay back same-sex couples the money they lost in taxes by not being able to file as a married couple during the years when same-sex marriage was illegal in the United States.

Sen. Warren is clearly attempting to pander to the LGBT community with this plan, but, all politics aside, the plan itself is still a ridiculous proposal. It is neither feasible nor necessary for the United States to offer reparations to every group of people that has suffered in this country. That’s not the government’s role, and that’s not how taxpayer money is intended to be used.

Unfortunately, the only way that Democrats know how to help people is to give them money that was taken from someone else. Ben Shapiro has more below.
