Few people can find any reason to complain about having the day off from work, and that’s not what we’re about to do either. Instead, we’re going to complain about why we set an arbitrary Monday aside at the end of August.
For most people, it doesn’t really matter why Labor Day is on the calendar. As far a they know, it’s just another late summer holiday — perfect for a last minute barbecue or a trip to the beach. And that’s fine — go for it. But before you do that, take a minute to reflect on the history behind it.
