Rep. Adam Schiff is a man who has grossly mishandled his responsibilities in the impeachment inquiry against President Donald Trump at every single turn.
From reciting a highly embellished phone conversation between Trump and the President of Ukraine during a congressional hearing, to colluding with the whistleblower who is responsible for kicking off the impeachment inquiry, Schiff has shown time and time again that there are no lines he isn’t willing to cross. Now, House Republicans have introduced a bill that would censure Adam Schiff for these wrongdoings.
Unfortunately, the bill was quickly shot down in the Democrat-controlled House by a vote of 218 to 185. While one could hold out hope that the bill will still send a powerful message, Schiff isn’t likely to be dissuaded by this vote.
If anything, it must be encouraging for Schiff to know that he can get away with mishandling his responsibilities so badly while still enjoying the full support of his fellow Democrats. If Schiff is ever to actually be held accountable for his many wrongdoings, it’s going to first require Republicans to take over the House once again.
