Reminder: Obamacare Was Designed to Fail from the Start

Over the weekend, a federal judge in Texas ruled that the entire Affordable Care Act, better known as Obamacare, is unconstitutional.

Now, there’s no reason to expect this ruling to stand, because higher courts are likely to simply strike that ruling down. However, this decision does present a watershed moment in our politics — and a long overdue moment of reflection.

Think back to the early days of the Obama Administration, when Democrats first began raising the healthcare issue. Between the then-president’s demonstrably false promises that Americans would be able to keep their doctors and insurance plans, video clips showing the party’s real intentions were going viral. Obamacare was never meant to be the final solution for the manufactured healthcare “crisis” (which didn’t exist). This was party of a larger plan to, in former President Barack Obama’s own words, fundamentally transform the United States of America.
