Press Challenges Trump’s Leadership, Gets Owned by Sarah Sanders

When the opposition is deliberately jumping off a cliff clutching an anvil, sometimes it’s best to just stand by and take pictures.

Senator Charles Schumer’s deliciously lame ‘negotiating with Trump is like negotiating with Jello’ quip may prove as legendary as that ‘basket of deplorables’ half-witticism uttered by one HRC has become. Turns out siding with illegal immigrants is just not the winning strategy the Democrats, though it might be with the American voting public. Especially when you prevent military families from being paid.

Petitions flew, phone lines lit up and when, 3 days into the government shutdown, even the dimmest Dem realized they’d made a mistake — and a resounding 81-18 vote signaled they knew it. Clearly, their ace in the hole would be President Trump launching a social media tirade — but none came. Press Secretary Sarah Sanders responded to a question about Schumer’s ‘Jello’ comment, and his subsequent remark that ‘the great negotiator sat on the sidelines’.

“What the President did clearly worked. This vote was more in the President’s favor than Senator Schumer’s,” she paused then added. “I’m not sure what they gained, other than Nancy Pelosi taking members out for a dinner to celebrate their shutdown.”
