To the rejoicing sound of Republicans everywhere, President Donald Trump has ordered the White House to immediately declassify documents pertaining to the investigation into his alleged ties with the Russian government.
The order follows months of conservative lawmakers and pundits alike imploring the president to do so. The documents, they say, will vindicate the president as well as prove that deep state bias was the main reason the investigation was launched in the first place.
Trump’s move to declassify the documents comes as the investigation, led by Special Counsel Robert Mueller, appears to be breaking down already. While the investigation has led to a number of indictments, prosecutors have still found no evidence that President Trump colluded with the Russian government to win his election against Democrat Hillary Clinton in 2016.
Now, you might be led to believe that this will finally close a dark chapter in our republic’s history. But, make no mistake, this is not the end of the Democratic Party’s crusade against the president. When they said “obstruct” and “resist,” they meant it. Their current slander of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh is proof.
Regardless, this is definitely a welcome move the president, and will hopefully help the American people move on from what has rightfully been called a baseless witch hunt.
