President Donald Trump had some choice works for New York’s Democratic Senator Kirsten Gillibrand after the lawmaker called for the commander-in-chief to resign from his post.
Following announcements that Democrats Al Franken and John Conyers would step down from their positions due to sexual harassment allegations, Senator Gillibrand doubled down on calls for Trump to do the same due to the fact that he’s also been accused by numerous women.
As expected, Trump hit back hard, taking to Twitter to recount an interaction he had with the senator before beginning his political career. According to the then real estate mogul, Gillibrand pressured him for generous campaign donations, saying she would do anything for them. Trump’s critics have since labelled the last part of Trump’s tweet as a sexist smear.
Responding to that latest insult, Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee-Sanders noted that Trump’s characteristic behavior has never been reserved for women.
