Open Borders Isn’t About Generosity — It’s About Power

Remember the Star Wars prequels? Neither do we. But there was an important lesson on leftist politics hidden by all of the terrible character writing in those movies. See, Senator Palpatine hired foreign leaders to attack his planet so that he could play the victim, seize power through emotional equity, transform the republic into an empire, and become the emperor.

The lesson here is this, the left uses victimhood as a way to grab power. It’s simple. If you have a victim, you have someone who is the recipient of sympathy. Such a person cannot be questioned. When they are questioned, the left calls the questioner a cruel bigot, or whatever they have to say to get the person to shut up.

Then, the newly empowered victim seizes control, often with a bevy of cynical handlers writing their lines for them, and uses that power to take control of massive amounts of resources. We’re told that the seizure of power is necessary to redress the harm, protect the vulnerable, and punish the guilty.

Sadly, those deemed guilty are usually a class of people who only superficially resemble the supposed original offender. This is the group who is about to have their assets taxed into the stone age.

To be fair, it isn’t just the left that does this, but they are the biggest victimhood merchants of the time. In the following clip, Tucker Carlson explains how the left is using immigration issues as a moral cudgel in order to seize power.
