NY Governor Andrew Cuomo Calls ICE “Thugs”

Since the 2016 election, prominent Democrats have been dragged further and further to the left in the face of stiff competition from far-left primary opponents. It’s a process that began with Bernie Sanders dragging Hillary Clinton to the left, and it hasn’t let up since.

Now, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo – who is in a tight race with far-left political activist Cynthia Nixon – has become the latest example of a prominent Democratic politician taking up the policies of the party’s fringe in order to save face.

In light of Nixon’s success campaigning against ICE, Cuomo decided to one-up his opponent in a recent debate by referring to ICE as “thugs” who were being used as pawns to enforce the Trump administration’s racist immigration policies.

To see such a prominent Democratic politician insult a group of men and women who work tirelessly to protect the nation against criminals such as MS-13 gang members who are crossing the border every day may be commonplace in the current Democratic party, but it’s disheartening nonetheless. Campaigning against ICE has become the latest far-left trend, though, and the power-hungry Cuomo certainly isn’t going to miss out on the action.
