Newt Gingrich Just PUMMELED Mitt Romney
There was a point in time when Mitt Romney represented the hopes and dreams of the Republican Party — a chance to end the disastrous Obama presidency and get the nation back on track. The problem was that Mitt Romney wasn’t a winner. He wasn’t willing to do what it takes to win as a Republican in the current political climate, and the nation was sentenced to another four years under Obama.
In 2016, Republicans finally got around to electing a real fighter who was able to push back against the bully tactics of the left and win a general election. Donald Trump’s victory has been a godsend for the GOP. Mitt Romney, however, isn’t exactly celebrating the victory.
Instead of using his Senate victory as an opportunity to work with President Trump, Romney immediately turned around and stuck a knife in the President’s back by writing a hostile op-ed attacking Trump in the Washington Post of all places. Now that Romney has shown his true colors yet again, former House Speaker and presidential candidate Newt Gingrich has a message for him — it doesn’t matter who you used to be; you’re either for us or against us.
There’s a real likelihood that Romney will make himself a thorn in Trump’s side for the rest of his presidency. If he’s counting on support from his Republican colleagues in this effort, though, he has a real surprise coming.
