Nancy Pelosi is Now One of the Most Powerful People on the Planet

History literally repeated itself before the weekend as California Representative Nancy Pelosi was once again sworn-in as Speaker of the House of Representatives — making her one of the most powerful figures in American politics.

Pelosi is the perfect example of what happens when someone is in national politics for too long. Her Speakership follows repeated calls by the progressive wing of her own party to instead choose a younger, more forward-thinking candidate who would better represent the new generation of Democrats. Unfortunately for them, Pelosi was able to make the case that it was her leadership that led Democrats to victory during the 2018 midterm elections — it had nothing to do with the fact that anti-Trump voters were extremely motivated or anything.

It’s worth noting that Pelosi is almost 80 years old, and her age is really starting to show whenever she finds herself in front of a camera.
