House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, along with other Democratic leaders, stormed out of the White House last week after a reportedly tense meeting with President Trump and other members of the administration.
The meeting apparently took a hostile turn when the two sides began discussing foreign policy and the Trump Administration’s decision to pull American troops out of a northern region in Syria. Following the troop pullout, fighting took place between the Turkish military and Kurdish fighters operating in the region.
The Democratic Party, which used to pretend to hate war and foreign intervention, has reversed its position since President Trump was elected. Prior to that, we never head the end about the evils of the Bush Administration, and the allegedly pointless war in Iraq.
My, how times have truly changed…
The truth is that Democrats have never really cared about foreign intervention one way or another. Even during the early 2000s, virtually every Democrat in Congress voted to authorize military action both in Iraq and Afghanistan. Their opposition to Trump’s decision in Syria are purely political.
