Let’s Be Honest About What’s REALLY Happening in France
For three weeks in a row now, thousands of protesters have taken to the streets in France to express their dissatisfaction with their government — more specifically President Emanuel Macron, who enjoys a staggering 18 percent approval rating there.
The protests started as an outcry against France’s crippling new fuel taxes, which were supposed to somehow save the environment by charging the French people an absurd amount for a commodity that they cannot live without.
In the three weeks since the protests began, though, they’ve shifted in nature from a protest against the fuel tax to a more general protest against the President Macron and the French government at-large. These protests come on the heels of President Macron scolding President Trump, saying that Trump’s America-first, nationalist policies are dangerous to the world.
It would seem that the people of France, however, would like for Macron to start putting France and its people first well rather pump up his globalist agenda. The movement toward nationalism isn’t a uniquely American phenomenon, and we’re starting to see more and more countries demanding that their governments get back to prioritizing the interests of their own people. If the unrest in France continues and boils into a powerful political movement, Macron’s time in office may be short-lived.
