Leftist Cancel Culture Claims Another Victim

Unless you are willing to tow the leftist line, being a media figure such as a comedian or an actor is a very risky proposition in 2019. Time and time again, we have seen the outrage culture and mob mentality of the left lead to men and women in the public spotlight losing their jobs over the smallest of “errors”. Now, the cancel culture of the modern left has claimed yet another victim – SNL comedian Shane Gillis.

The story of Gillis’s firing from SNL follows the same outline that always occurs when the left’s outrage machine gets revved up. It started with a journalist who didn’t have anything useful to write about that day, and decided to go digging through Gillis’s old comedy routines to compile a list of quotes that, when taken out of context, would seem offensive.

Next, the media – and social media in particular – did its thing and made sure that everyone saw these out-of-context quotes. Of course, the mob of online leftists were then happy to do its part to express outrage all over the internet. A few days later, Gillis found himself out of a job.

Here’s Michael Knowles with more.
