Kellyanne Conway Discusses Trump’s Upcoming Supreme Court Pick

Since Supreme Court justices are lifelong nominees, many presidents go without having the opportunity to nominate a single Supreme Court justice. President Trump, however, has already nominated one, and is about to nominate a second.

Justice Anthony Kennedy’s retirement opened up the door for Trump to replace a justice that has always been a tossup in regards to whether he sides with the conservative or liberal justices in the Court with one that will be reliably conservative.

Appearing on Fox News, Trump’s advisor Kellyanne Conway described the president’s upcoming Supreme Court nomination, which he is expected to announce on July 9th. Though she neglected to provide any names, Conway promised that the justice Trump picked would be one who is faithful to the Constitution.

Too many justices in the federal courts have taken it upon themselves to legislate from the bench, making up laws rather than interpreting the laws that are in place as they are supposed to. This is an issue that Conway described, and one that she promised Trump’s nominee would not be guilty of. For conservatives who want to see the role of the Court returned to its true place in the government, this promise is every bit as important as the fact that conservatives will now have a reliable majority in the Supreme Court for the first time in fifty years.
