‘JEXIT’: Pro-Israel Jews Leaving the Democratic Party En Masse

Just like with every other ethnic minority, Jewish Americans have been loyally voting Democrat for generations — and many are finally beginning to question what they’re getting out of it.

Not long ago, mainstream Democratic politicians paid lip service to America’s relationship with Israel the same way Republicans do now. The difference is that Israel’s very existence has become a partisan issue. Jewish Americans who believe Israel has an existential and spiritual significance aren’t exactly fond of this new line of thinking.

Enter JEXIT — a movement mean to encourage Jewish Americans to turn their backs on the party they say abandoned their interests long ago.

The name is a callback both to the United Kingdom’s 2016 referendum to leave the European Union, as well as BLEXIT, an American movement led by conservative commentator Candace Owens. The latter encouraged black Americans to ditch the Democratic Party as well.
