Jesse Peterson Vists SLUTWALK 2018: a Preview
Jesse Lee Peterson knows something that we seem to have nearly forgotten in this culture; being a slut is not cool. But why?
Well, sex is the method by which human beings make more humans. There’s nothing unique about that. But the way humans have to raise children is quite unique, and it is the reason why being a slut is not okay.
For one thing, sex is an especially risky proposition for women. Human gestation times are among the longest, most taxing, and most perilous in the animal kingdom. Women are especially vulnerable during pregnancy, and the carry rate of mother to baby is one to one for all intents and purposes. That means an ill-timed pregnancy can be a disaster for the mother, for any existing children, for anyone who depends on her, and everyone who cares about her. But most of all, an ill-timed pregnancy is bad for the child. Children born to non-committal fathers, in unstable circumstances, or to mothers who are poorly cared for or in ill health are doomed to a low quality of life and have low survival expectations.
Birth control has and modern medicine has lowered the risks, but they have not removed them. The fact that we have larger populations means that more people will be better off — but the overall level of misery will not decrease — it will rise when people are sexually promiscuous.
Here’s a preview of a JLP video where he confronts so-called “slut culture” head on.
