Cars and trucks are different. They have different purposes, different hardware, different forms of appeal to automobile buyers. Ovens and refrigerators are different. They have different purposes and different mechanical properties. Spoons and forks are different. They have similar, but differing uses. But we are never encouraged to deny the utility of forks. We are never told that ovens matter more than refrigerators. And we are never indoctrinated from age three to 25 to believe cars are oppressed by trucks, that all trucks should be altered and force truck owners to try and drive like car owners.
But, we do these things to men. We tell men that they are all to blame any time a man hurts a woman. Boys are told that their instincts are wrong, harmful, and disruptive. We drug boys and shame boys and throw men in jail as exorbitant rates.
So, is it any wonder that so many men are wandering through life not knowing what the male virtues are? Is it any wonder that so many American men refuse to celebrate their manhood? Is it any wonder that the flare and utility of manhood is relegated to the garage, the sports bar, the “man cave?”
Let’s get something straight right now. Men are wonderful. They are builders, protectors, teachers, and so much more. We’re not even going to qualify that with any of the nice things we could say about women. It not your turn, ladies. This is about men. Handle it.
Here’s Jesse Lee Peterson with another embarrassing beta male who doesn’t know what a man is.
