How President Trump Won the Shutdown War
Could the left finally be starting to lose the culture war? In many ways they have been for quite some time- at least for the previous five years or so as so many people have been driven from the arms of the radical left.
People are more interested in politics than ever before. More are paying attention to the dealings of what Frank Zappa famously called the entertainment arm of the military-industrial complex. That means folks are definitely going to fall on a spectrum naturally. But this spectrum, rather than being graded by political temperament, will be divided up according to how much people are willing to learn about history, current events, and the art of political power.
Those who stampeded toward slogans and don’t take the time to learn the arguments of their opponents are naturally going to gravitate toward the left. Leftists have never been interested in history or in understanding the arguments of conservatives. They prefer to simply trust the sayings of their leaders, use name calling, attribute blame, and presume malevolence.
If you’ve ever been in an argument with a left-wing apparatchik, then you’ve probably noticed that they always assume the reason you think differently to them is that you wish harm on others, or are selfish.
What’s happening in our culture is that as more people obtain knowledge about history and politics, simple blame placing becomes less and less effective. It’s something that really stands out in the debate over the government shutdown and DACA.
