Throughout the 2016 election, Hillary Clinton did everything in her power to deflect the conversation away from the emails she wrongly sent on a private, unsecured server. Almost three years after her defeat to Donald Trump, though, Clinton finally seems ready to tackle the issue head-on – in what happens to be the most odd and embarrassing way she possibly could.
On September 10, Clinton appeared at an art exhibit in Venice, Italy for an hour-long exhibition where she sat down behind a copy of the Resolute desk from the Oval Office and read her emails one by one.
Let’s set aside for a moment how sad and embarrassing it is for a failed Presidential candidate to “play pretend” behind a replica of the desk that belongs to the office that she will never hold. Even more interesting than this is the question of what exactly it is that Clinton was trying to prove? There were thousands of emails that she deleted from her private server that were never seen by investigators, much less read aloud at her latest art exhibition. If Clinton is trying to show through this stunt that her emails were harmless and insignificant, these thousands of unread emails present a major elephant in the room.
Whatever it was that Clinton thought she was accomplishing, though, the end result was nothing short of comical. Fox News has more below.
