Here’s What Socialists Don’t Want You to Know About Capitalism
The popularity of socialism is growing at a rapid rate, particularly among individuals between the age of 18 and 29. In fact, a recent poll shows that 36% of Americans in that age group favor socialism over capitalism.
This growing movement is lead by prominent socialists such as Bernie Sanders, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Elizabeth Warren. Each of these politicians rails against the evils of capitalism while promoting socialism as a better alternative. However, there’s a dark secret that each of these socialists share, a reality about capitalism that they don’t want their supporters to know. That secret is that each of these socialists has benefited immensely from capitalism.
Bernie Sanders has based his platform on the supposed problem of income inequality and the evils of the one percent. Yet the senator’s $1 million-plus annual income places him well within the one percent he seems to hate so much. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, meanwhile, was raised in a wealthy neighborhood thanks to her father’s construction business, and Elizabeth Warren enjoys a net worth that is north of $3.7 million.
Each of these socialists denounces capitalism while at the same time benefiting from its virtues. The secret that they don’t want their supporters to know is that capitalism works, and they are living examples of the benefits that capitalism offers.
