Elizabeth Warren Finally Apologizes to the Cherokee Nation

Identity politics is bad enough even when the politician in question actually belongs to the group whose hardships they are leveraging. Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren’s version of identity politics – making false claims about her heritage in order to benefit from the leg up that identity politics offers – is even worse.

There’s a good chance she would have got away with it if it weren’t for the constant attention that President Donald Trump brought to her claims. After taking the bait and agreeing to a DNA test that proved Elizabeth Warren doesn’t have a drop of Cherokee blood in her body, the progressive lawmaker is finally ready to at least somewhat apologize to the Cherokee Nation for her actions.

After facing harsh backlash from Native Americans and non-Native Americans alike, Warren apologized for taking a DNA test. DNA tests have never been and are still not the manner in which true Native Americans document their heritage, and Warren’s decision to take a DNA test was an insulting move that ultimately backfired. While Warren has apologized for this misstep, she still shows no signs of apologizing for the decades she has spent laying claim to a heritage that is not her own.

See how Warren atoned for her actions in the video below.
