The danger of radical views and ideas is that these views and ideas often times culminate into real-world results. Now, we are seeing the effects of the left’s views on identity politics and victim hierarchy played out before us in real-time, and the consequences are not pretty.
By granting one special privilege after another to groups that the left supposes are victims, those on the left have created a growing culture where victimhood is not only praised, it is desired and sought after.
It should go without saying, but glorifying victimhood to the point that it turns into a form of social currency is not productive for our society. Right now, we are seeing people from all walks of life clamoring to claim victimhood status. If you create benefits for being a victim, this result is inevitable. However, the consequences are not positive, as turning victimhood into a currency only encourages people to pursue a status that they should be encouraged to avoid.
