CNN is Very Upset About the Midterm Election Results

The results are in: Democrats will indeed retake control of the House of Representatives for the first time since 2010, and Republicans will maintain their control of the U.S. Senate.

To be sure, this is a net gain for Democrats, but we all know they were expecting much more from voters on Election Day. While the party of Nancy Pelosi did make important gains in the legislature, the night was not without its upsets — and we’re not just talking about the Senate.

With a gain of 34 seats, this is hardly the “blue wave” liberal pundits were promising us — suggesting that America is not in fact united against some sort of Trumpian oligarchy. Even the talking heads at CNN were forced to admit this, and they weren’t too happy to do so.

One of the best sob stories of the night came from CNN commentator Van Jones, who appears convinced that America is still a deeply racist hell scape.
