You know, when the Left spots one of our dummies, they say he’s typical of the conservative movement. But when we drop the spotlight on one of their most acute wingnuts, they say, “Oh, that’s an outlier, you’re just cherry-picking.”
But we don’t think so. We don’t think their outliers are very far from their center. That’s because we see left-wing extremists on the nightly news programs. We see their outliers on TV every day making outrageous accusations, crafting the loosest possible conspiracy theories, and calling for violence against people based on who they voted for.
So, conservative YouTube creators do a lot of the “man on the street” videos. Some people poopoo these but they are really important. They show first hand how badly constructed the arguments of everyday leftists are. One of our favorites was one where a guy from PragerU read comments from Obama about illegal immigration to random college students, and told them it was Trump saying it. Naturally, the students would comment on how hateful he was. Then when he told them it was Obama they would glitch out or double down.
That is the kind of person we are dealing with. These are people who have firmly believed that they discovered the ultimate moral truth years ago. They believe anyone who disagrees with them is evil necessarily. And worst of all, they believe what they believe because they were told to believe it.
Here’s Steven Crowder with a particularly instructive confrontation.
