Canada’s Stephen Harper: Conservatives Aren’t “Far Right”
It’s almost hard to remember at this point, but there was a time when Canada had a prime minister that was actually proud to be Canadian. This is why it was so refreshing to see the predecessor of Justin “if you kill your enemies, they win” Trudeau appear on the Ben Shapiro Show last week.
During the conversation between the former prime minister and the conservative podcaster, the two discussed a wide range of topics — from illegal immigration to what makes conservatism in Canada distinct from conservatism in the United States. The two men disagreed about a lot, but they were on the same page when they tackled the question of conservatism and the so-called “far-right”.
While we’re not going to pretend the far-right doesn’t exist, we will note that its meaning has been watered down to the point where it’s almost not a proper label anymore. This is all thanks to the cultural left, which asserts that everyone that isn’t perfectly in line with what they believe in is “far-right”.
