You’ve probably heard it before, but it’s worth repeating: the left can’t meme. What’s a meme, you might be asking, well — we’ll tell you. A meme is a contagious idea. It’s a concept floated by ranking atheist Sir Richard Dawkins. He regarded religion and national identity as memes.
But when we say the left can’t meme, we’re not talking about Dawkins’ condescending appraisal of traditional ideology. We’re talking about humorous viral images shared on the Internet that convey a wealth of meaning with just a caption and a simple picture.
Memes have been a powerful tool in the hands of today’s conservative Internet culture warriors. You may have heard of a few of the great ones. There’s the NPC meme, which labels anyone who argues solely in pre-packaged talking points. People got banned from social media platforms for using it. There is Pepe the Frog, which represents chaos, change, and amusing absurdity. People got banned from social media platforms for using it. And now, we have clown world, a meme which means that everything the left does is laughable at face value. And people are getting banned from social media platforms for using it.
Well, in case you didn’t know, there is a meme-generating machine. It lives in Canada, and it just can’t stop inspiring hilarious memes. It’s the flaky liberal icon, Justin Trudeau. He can’t stop being absurdly leftist and embarrassing his country while sporting full, luxurious, locks of golden-brown French-Canadian hair.
