AOC’s Green New Deal is Already a PR Disaster
New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez recently unveiled a bold new vision for the United States of America called the “Green New Deal”. Unfortunately for Ocasio-Cortez, the proposal hasn’t gone over all that well, even among her Democratic colleagues.
While undoubtedly disappointed at her proposal’s reception, Ocasio-Cortez shouldn’t be surprised – the “Green New Deal” is undeniably the most absurd, fantastical document to ever come out of Congress. In addition to calling for the United States to completely eliminate all carbon emissions – without relying on nuclear energy – within the next ten years, the proposal also calls for things such as the elimination of all air travel, free college tuition, universal healthcare, guaranteed income for anyone who is unable or unwilling to work, the replacement of all combustion-powered vehicles with electric vehicles, and the elimination of “farting cows”.
It’s no exaggeration to say that Ocasio-Cortez’s proposal is something you would expect a 12 year old to create if they were elected to Congress. If her plan wasn’t so impossible to achieve, it would be terrifying, as enacting the “Green New Deal” would be nothing less than a fast-track to economic destruction.
It’s hard to expect much from a socialist waitress with no political experience, and yet Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez continues to impress the world with just how unqualified for her position that she really is.
