AOC Makes Up Her Own Definition of the Poverty Line

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is someone that has a very loose and casual relationship with the truth. While it’s difficult to accuse her of lying or bending the truth when she genuinely doesn’t seem to know what the truth is in the first place, the fact still remains that Ocasio-Cortez is far too prone to making “facts” up out of thin air anytime it suits her.

Now, Ocasio-Cortez has apparently decided that the definition of the poverty line needs to be changed in order to fit her socialist agenda.

According to the federal government, the poverty line for a household of four is $25,750 a year. According to Ocasio-Cortez, though, the poverty line for a single person is $38,000 a year. Where she gets this number is really anyone’s guess. What is obvious, though, is that Ocasio-Cortez’s argument for socialism is dependent on the idea that most Americans are living in poverty – and when the numbers don’t show this to be true, Ocasio-Cortez’s solution is to simply change the numbers.
