If you grew up watching Hollywood movies, attending public school and went on to just about any publicly funded college in the country then there’s one thing you’re sure of — America sucks. If you checked all of the above boxes, there is at best a 50/50 chance that you prefer socialism to capitalism, and you believe that America has a worse history of oppressing minorities than any other nation on Earth.
Much of what we now call “Trump derangement syndrome” is due to the fact that people have been trained from their tender years to believe that socialism means sharing. Of course, we don’t have to tell you that socialism really is sharing… sharing the fruits of other people’s labor that has been stolen from them.
It can be a hard pill to swallow, but once you do it doesn’t take long to realize that just about the entire education-media-democratic complex is designed to obscure the fact that communism and socialism are about stealing from those who earn the most in order to gain the approval of those who get a cut of the theft.
But you can’t steal from and abuse a whole class of people without denigrating their character first. One of the most important ways to do this is to devalue anything that creates a national character. So patriotism and the sharing of common feelings with one’s neighbors have to go.
