Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is Apparently REALLY Bad at Math
After winning handily against her Republican opponent, socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez will join the House of Representatives and will soon have to make some attempt to deliver on all of the lofty promises she made during her highly publicized campaign. The problem is that Ocasio-Cortez has made it painfully clear that she has absolutely no idea how to deliver on those promises.
In a recent interview, Ocasio-Cortez was asked how she intends to pay for the programs she supports such as Medicare for all and “free” college tuition. Just like her role model Bernie Sanders, Ocasio-Cortez tends to dodge and deflect these questions any time they come up. This time, however, the Congresswoman-elect did at least attempt to provide an answer. Unfortunately for Ocasio-Cortez, she probably would have been better off just dodging the question again.
Ocasio-Cortez says that she “find(s) the question so puzzling” when people ask her how she will pay for these socialist programs, then goes on to give an answer that displays a deep misunderstanding of basic economics.
Sadly, it’s too late to do anything about Ocasio-Cortez for at least the next two years. Voters in New York have put her in power and must now deal with the consequences of that choice. However, the more public missteps she makes in the meantime, the more likely people are to realize just how in over her head she really is.
